10 years after its release, Frozen is still an all-time favorite. The Disney classic had its one-decade anniversary on November 27, and some of the cast members shared their favorite memories from the film. Let’s go through some photos and see what the actors are doing now and where they are in life.

Idina Menzel as Elsa

Idina Menzel is a Tony winner and voiced the Frozen princess Elsa. The talented singer and actress shared that she loved being a part of the movie that changed the life perspective of many. She also commented on the responsibility that came with being a role model for empowerment and self-esteem.

We had already seen her on stage in Rent, Wicked, If/Then, and on television in Glee before Frozen premiered. Apart from filming both Frozen movies, Menzel has also released music albums and starred in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah on Netflix. The actress is married to Aaron Lohr and has a 14-year-old son with ex-husband Taye Diggs.

Kristen Bell as Anna

Kristen Bell was also well-known before accepting the role of Anna. Some of her most popular TV series are Heroes, Veronica Mars, Gossip Girl, and Party Down. Kristen previously commented on how Frozen broke the typical norms of Hollywood princess films and showed that the love you have for your family is more important than any other love.

We also saw her in Bad Moms, House of Lies, The Good Place, and a Veronica Mars reboot. Bell is married to actor Dax Shepard, and the two have daughters, Lincoln, 10, and Delta, 8.

Jonathan Groff as Kristoff and Sven

Jonathan Groff is yet another Broadway actor who got a role in Frozen; well, two roles, technically! He voiced both Kristoff and Sven in the movie and smashed both roles.

Previously, he had starred in My Life and Spring Awakening. We also watched him in Glee and Boss. In 2015, Groff got the part of King George in Broadway’s Hamilton, which brought him another Tony nomination and a Grammy win.

Josh Gad as Olaf

Olaf is the star of the Frozen movie, and Josh Gad, who voiced him, had several roles in TV before filming the Disney hit. He had starred in Back to You and Woke Up Dead. He also appeared on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and The Book of Mormon (he even got a Tony nomination for it). Although Frozen is extremely popular among kids, the actor shared that his kids “hated” when he voiced Olaf at home.

Josh Gad appeared in a few other Disney productions, such as the live-action Beauty and the Beast. He also recently reunited with The Book of Mormon costar Andrew Rannells on Broadway’s Gutenberg! The Musical! The actor is married to Ida Darvish and they have two daughters, Ava, 12, and Isabella, 9.

Santino Fontana as Prince Hans

Yes, Santino Fontana has also appeared on the stage of Broadway in Billy Elliot the Musical and Cinderella before voicing Prince Hans. Although he didn’t have a role in Frozen II, Fontana has since starred in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Shades of Blue, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Now he’s back on Broadway with the musical Fallen Angels. The actor is married to Jessica Hershberg, and the two have a 4-year-old child.

Apple TV+ Joins Netflix in Canceling Shows After One Season

In the realm of streaming entertainment, cancellations have become an unfortunate reality, and Apple TV+ has joined Netflix in the trend of axing shows after just one season. The recent cancellation of the comedy-drama series High Desert starring Patricia Arquette showcases the impact of completion metrics on determining a show’s fate.

Netflix and Apple TV+ in Sync

Both Netflix and Apple TV+ have gained notoriety for abruptly canceling shows after their first seasons. Titles like Everything Sucks!, I Am Not Okay With This, and High Desert have all fallen victim to this recurring trend among streaming platforms. Apple TV+ following in Netflix’s footsteps with the cancellation of High Desert, further highlights this growing phenomenon.

The Story of High Desert

High Desert, which premiered on Apple TV+ on May 17th, introduced viewers to the character of Peggy, portrayed by Patricia Arquette. The series revolved around Peggy’s journey as a private investigator after her mother’s passing. Set in the picturesque town of Yucca Valley, California, the show featured an ensemble cast and delivered a compelling narrative that sadly concluded after just one season.

A New Rule in Streaming

Netflix’s notorious 28-day viewership rule revolves around the concept of completion. Viewer metrics within the first four weeks of a show’s release significantly influence the decision to renew or cancel a series. Interestingly, the decision to cancel High Desert was made approximately six weeks after its premiere, leading to speculation about a potential similar viewership rule implemented by the streaming platform.

2023 TV Schedule Casualties

The 2023 TV schedule has witnessed several casualties among big streaming platforms. Alongside High Desert, shows like Amber Brown and Dear Edward met the same fate, concluding after their debut seasons. While The Mosquito Coast and Truth Be Told enjoyed longer runs, they, too, bid farewell. The cancellations highlight the evolving landscape of streaming entertainment, where factors beyond popularity contribute to a series’ destiny.

Supporting Beloved Content

When a beloved streaming show faces cancellation, it’s important to understand that it’s not personal but a result of metrics and viewer completion. Timely completion within those crucial first four weeks becomes an influential factor in supporting the content we enjoy. By completing shows promptly and encouraging friends to do the same, viewers can demonstrate their support and increase the chances of their favorite series continuing.
